Gia Thuy
Gia Thuy pottery village is located in Gia Thuy commune, Nho Quan district, Ninh Binh province, is a traditional pottery village with the age of more than 50 years. According to the village's artisans, Gia Thuy pottery was formerly known as Long Thinh pottery. In 1959, some potters in Thanh Hoa migrated here and opened a number of pottery kilns to make utensils for daily life such as pots, pans, jars and jars. From there, Gia Thuy pottery village was born.

Gia Thuy was chosen to develop pottery because it has a characteristic clay, suitable for pottery. The distinctive feature of Gia Thuy pottery is that it is made from yellow-brown clay, which is only available in the craft village. This type of soil has high cohesion, smoothness and good heat resistance. The soil, when taken back, will be dried, pounded and put in a soaking tank. Then, artisans would use a mixer to stir well and then scoop the filter through the sieve. The next step is to decant the water above, take the solidified soil and then dry it until it has enough flexibility to be put into use. The drying of the soil also requires great care, because if the soil is too dry or too wet, it will be difficult to shape.

Through the traditional products of Gia Thuy pottery village such as pots, jars, jars, cups, plates with patterns of Vietnamese countryside landscapes, one not only sees the virtuosity and ingenuity of skilled workers but can also feel the sophistication of generations of artisans condensed in each product line. Perhaps that is why Gia Thuy ceramic products always have their own distinctive features and are favored by many domestic and foreign customers.
